Mtunzini Bed & Breakfast

Set in a spacious garden in the quaint seaside village of Mtunzini our B&B looks out over the rolling, cane covered hills of Zululand and enjoys breath-taking sunsets.

Mtunzini is a nature lover’s paradise. The clean country air inspires even the most lethargic to venture outside and to enjoy the environment. Home to the rare Palmnut Vulture – which feeds and roosts in the gigantic Raphia palms – Mtunzini boasts a number of rare and endangered species of birds which attract birders from around the globe. As a seaside village Mtunzini is unique in that it does not suffer from the curse of seafront development so commonly found in most other South African seaside resorts.

The uMlalazi Nature Reserve – with its vast, unspoilt beaches; pristine mangrove swamps and dune forest trails – has kept development back from the shore and ensures that all can enjoy this natural heritage. For the energetic, the reserve is an easy 15 minute walk away from Mtunzini B&B.
For the sports enthusiasts Mtunzini Country Club offers a 9-hole golf course with unparalleled sea views as well as squash and tennis courts.

The town also has a very active bowling club. Both of these facilities lie within a 2km radius of Mtunzini B&B. Encompassed in the same 2 km radius can be found a variety of shops; pubs and restaurants for those times when a little self-indulgence is required.

From Mtunzini pleasurable day trips can be made to Eshowe) with its unique aerial boardwalk and Ongoye with its rare bird species. Visit Fort Nongquai in Eshowe and Shakaland Zulu cultural village.

Mtunzini B&B has TV’s and aircons in all rooms.
